Meet Dr. Burbach

Dr. Alexander C. Burbach is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic: Davenport, IA specializing in the Gonstead Method.  Born in Dubuque, IA, Dr. Burbach had been exposed to chiropractic from a very young age with his first adjustment at 3 minutes old by his father Dr. Kurt V. Burbach. Growing up seeing the healing power of chiropractic while working in his father’s office, Dr. Alex knew he wanted to pursue a life in healthcare.  After high school, he attended the University of Iowa (don’t hold it against him) where he pursued a double major in Pre-Chiropractic and Technical Theatre, as well as a double minor in German and Vocal Performance.

After finishing his D.C. program, Dr. Burbach moved to the historic city of Hot Springs, AR to begin practice and as a resident extern with Family Care Chiropractic Center, under Dr. Brian D. Reilly P.A., D.C., M.S. who, in addition to his chiropractic degree, also holds a masters in Biomechanical Trauma.  While there, Dr. Burbach treated patients of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of injury and wellness.  Through his time at FCCC, Dr. Burbach took a special interest in acute trauma and injury. “These patients with extreme conditions walk, and in some cases crawl, through the door and your heart breaks for them.  They talk about how they can’t perform even their basic daily routine without extreme pain.  They feel isolated from family, friends, and the social activities that made life worth living.  Experiencing firsthand the transformation from that first adjustment to the next and through their entire treatment is indescribable.  Going from tears, pain, and isolation to the biggest smile because they were able to get on the floor and paly with their grandchild makes this work not only fulfilling but the most important decision I have ever made.  The joy felt by helping patients get their lives back can’t be measured.”

Dr. Burbach looks forward to serving Oak Creek and the surrounding communities to them take their lives back and express life to its fullest potential!

What does Dr. Burbach Do?

As stated above, Dr. Burbach specializes in the Gonstead Method of Chiropractic.  The Gonstead Method consists of a specific analysis of biomechanical forces and how the spine responds and adapts to them utilizing orthopedic testing and X-ray imaging, then applying a specific adjustment to the segment or segments that are causing interference; much like how an engineer observes and calculates load on a wall or bridge and makes adjustments to the positioning of studs, beams, and suspension cables.  Through this method Dr. Burbach can narrow down the primary cause of dysfunction and restore appropriate function of the spine.

Additionally, Dr. Burbach employs several other techniques including: Diversified, Thompson-Drop, Soft-Tissue techniques, and Neuromuscular reeducation to tailor treatment to each patient’s needs, preferences, and condition maximizing results and minimizing discomfort.  As the adage goes, “There’s more than one way to skin a cat!”

“The Doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will be interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease” -Thomas Edison

“Chiropractic is the philosophy, science, and art of things natural. A system of adjusting the articulations of the spinal column for the correction of the cause of disease.” -D.D. Palmer the Discoverer of Chiropractic
